Troy tatting

Troy Tatting is a Partner at ASK LLP managing the mass tort department. He has represented victims of defective pharmaceuticals and medical devices for over twelve years. Troy has held leadership positions in multiple multi-million dollar mass tort litigations, in multiple jurisdictions throughout the country. As a respected member of the mass tort bar, Troy is a seasoned and tireless advocate for individuals seeking justice.
Troy has also represented Fortune 500 companies and individuals in complex commercial, class action, employment, and product liability litigation. He has first chair trial experience. He has successfully represented clients in drug and medical device MDLs and in class action litigation involving claims of disputed wage payments; racial, religious, sexual, and ethnic discrimination; and breaches of consumer protection laws. Troy is a regular presenter at national local conferences and events.
Troy was part of the trial and litigation team for the first bellwether case selected for trial in an MDL involving a popular anti-smoking drug. The case was successfully resolved as part of a confidential settlement on the eve of trial. Approximately 2,500 additional claims were resolved as part of a $273 million settlement.
Troy focuses his pro bono work on advocating for victims of domestic violence through the Tubman Safety Project.


Troy graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Law, J.D., magna cum laude (2005), was a visiting law student at the University of Minnesota School of Law (2005), and served as a member of the Quinnipiac Law Review. He completed externships with a federal judge in Connecticut and in an appellate prosecutor clinic where he argued before the Connecticut Court of Appeals. He holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota (2001).


Troy is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Minnesota Association for Justice.

Troy has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He has also served as a volunteer attorney and board member for Tubman, a homeless shelter and domestic violence advocacy nonprofit. He is a former board member of the Dakota Woodlands homeless shelter. Troy is active in the community as a volunteer youth sports coach.
