Biography

Johnnise Lopez is an associate whose practice focuses on advocating for survivors of sexual abuse/assault.

Ms. Lopez earned her J.D. from New England Law | Boston. While at New England she served as an Editor for the New England Law Review. Additionally, Ms. Lopez served as a Student Attorney at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office through the Public Interest Clinic. Through the clinic she represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in arraignments, hearings and assisted with second seating trials. Furthermore, she participated in the Judicial Honors Clerkship and clerked for the Honorable John Casey in the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court.

Prior to joining ASK LLP, Ms. Lopez worked for a prominent insurance defense firm representing clients in medical malpractice matters. She represented hospitals, physicians, health care professionals, and other business entities in lawsuits throughout New York.

Prior to her time as a defense attorney in the medical malpractice field, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County for four years within the trial division. As an Assistant District Attorney, Ms. Lopez oversaw a caseload of complex felony and misdemeanor matters from inception to resolution. Ms. Lopez participated in the investigation, indictment, and prosecution of hundreds of cases including DWI’s, robberies,  burglaries, narcotics and weapons possessions, assault, non-fatal shootings and attempted murders.
