Kid’s Bike Helmets Recalled
On September 1, 2021, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of children’s bicycle helmets. Approximately 860 bike helmets are involved in the recall. They were manufactured by Dongguan Flying Sports Goods Co. Ltd., of China and imported by SKE Outdoors Inc., of Katy, Texas. According to the CPSC announcement, the recall was initiated because “the bicycle helmets do not comply with the U.S. CPSC federal safety standard for bicycle helmets, posing a risk of head injury.” The notice says this recall involves TurboSke Kids Toddler bike helmets. The helmets were sold in various colors, including purple, orange, lime green, magenta pink, mint blue, and black. “TurboSke” is printed on the front and back of the helmet. Model FX010 is printed on a label on the inside of the helmet. The notice states that only size small helmets are included in this recall. More information and photos of the recalled helmets can be found on the CPSC website.
