Learn More About The Maui Wildfires

Los Angeles Wildfires

We are deeply concerned by the devastating impact the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires have had on our community. As we begin the difficult process of recovery, ASK LLP and Kibler Fowler & Cave LLP are committed to guiding individuals, businesses, and communities through the intricate legal, environmental, and insurance issues that arise in wildfire-related claims. Together, our firms form a formidable team, backed by extensive litigation experience and deep ties to the Los Angeles community.

Our Experience

Our combined team brings together a powerful trifecta of capabilities to navigate the complex legal landscape created by the wildfires: (1) mass tort practice, with wildfire experience; (2) full-service bankruptcy practice; and (3) a robust trial practice known for regularly litigating and taking cases to trial.

Whether dealing with property damage, insurance disputes, or environmental and liability matters, our dedicated team ensures that your rights are protected and that you receive the justice and compensation you deserve.

Representative experience includes:

Understanding Government and Environmental Impacts. Our attorneys are home-grown with experience investigating the operations of government entities and working on behalf of individuals as related to environmental impacts within Los Angeles County.

National Wildfire Litigation. We represent clients related to the Maui Wildfires in lawsuits asserting claims related to multi-million-dollar business losses, lost wages and rental income, destruction of homes, loss of personal property, agricultural loss, as well as personal injury and emotional damages, and successfully navigating federal and state court challenges, and securing a $4 billion settlement on the one-year anniversary of the disaster.

California Wildfire Disputes. We represented a key executive from the city of Paradise—ground zero in the California wildfiresand played a critical role negotiating a $12 billion settlement benefiting all wildfire victims. We also represented a large consulting firm in an investigation by the PG&E Fire Victim Trustee regarding PG&E’s Bankruptcy proceedings related to the 2018 Camp Fire and other wildfires in Northern California.

We Are Here to Help

We are driven by our concern for and profound connection to the LA community. While some lawsuits have been filed, we do not see a benefit to an immediate filing. The devastation came quickly, but legal deadlines—the statute of limitations—have yet to pass. For example, for certain claims, California law gives individuals two years from the date an incident occurred to file a lawsuit.

Motivated by a deep concern for their fellow Angelenos, Kibler Fower & Cave LLP have partnered with ASK LLP to provide crucial support to victims of the recent Los Angeles wildfires.Together, they aim to help individuals and businesses navigate the legal complexities arising from property loss and business disruptions. ASK LLP’s team— Ed Neiger, Co-Managing Partner, a nationally recognized leader in bankruptcy and mass tort law, Joe Steinfeld, Co-Managing Partner, with decades of experience in high-profile cases, and Alex Robertson, a partner overseeing complex mass tort litigation—brings unmatched expertise in disaster-related litigation. Ed played a pivotal role in the PG&E bankruptcy, securing a multi-billion-dollar settlement for wildfire victims. Joe has argued major cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and is known for his leadership in handling complex mass tort cases. Alex has extensive experience in complex mass torts litigation involving widespread harm to individuals. ASK LLP itself has personal ties to LA—one of Joe’s original partners is a Palisades resident and his grandkids are Angelenos. This powerful team is committed to ensuring wildfire victims receive the guidance and support they need to recover and rebuild.
